Becoming Bridge Citizens is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, particularly for North Korean diasporic communities who may access our platform across diverse geographical and linguistic contexts. We strive to provide a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology.

To begin with, our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with sensory, cognitive, and mobility disabilities, while also improving the user experience for everyone. Consequently, we are continuously implementing measures to enhance our platform's usability and technical robustness.

In terms of specific accessibility features, we have designed the platform to support multiple languages, including Korean, English, and Mandarin, to accommodate the diverse linguistic backgrounds of our participants. Furthermore, the website is built with a responsive design, ensuring that it remains functional and legible across various devices, such as smartphones and tablets, which are the primary tools for our digital journaling and Photovoice activities.

Regarding the interactive elements of the research, such as the Digital Journaling and Photovoice Integration, we place a high priority on visual safety and ease of use. For instance, we provide clear instructions on how to upload images and engage with prompts, while simultaneously ensuring that all metadata is automatically removed to protect user anonymity and security. In addition, we aim to provide alternative text for meaningful images and ensure that the site is navigable via keyboard-only inputs wherever possible.

However, we acknowledge that as a dynamic research platform currently under development, some areas may not yet fully reach the highest accessibility standards. In such cases, we are dedicated to finding alternative ways to provide the necessary information or support to our participants.
